1. Bosses who do not lead by example
Whenever the boss leaves the office, it is for a meeting or a business lunch. Whenever his subordinates leave the office, they are skiving.
"My boss takes 2 hour lunches and 3 tea breaks a day. Why can he be so relaxed while we can?t take any breaks at all?"
2. The "fruit juicer" bosses
They do not care if their subordinates die of overwork, and make their teams work like robots, setting almost impossible deadlines.
"Why do bosses assume that if you are single, you don't have a life? Can't single people have other activities lined up for them after work hours too? Why does my boss assume that all I need is a shower and some sleep when I get home and that I'll be ready to slave away for the company the next day?
3. Bosses who treat the "insiders" better
You are not in his ?inner circle? so you can never achieve any recognition for your efforts or appreciation for what you have done.
"I was being hired by another boss, and so was not in my current boss' 'inner circle'. When I managed to obtain a higher qualification and wanted a raise, my boss simply said that he was 'not involved in this' and refused my request."
4. The inhumane bosses
The boss does not want to do any real work, so he delegates everything to his subordinates. When things go wrong, he scolds the team and always peppers his sentences with vulgarities.
"My boss isn't only fond of scolding people, he is also very irritating and long winded. He always stops by and chats about topics that have nothing to do with work, or he will just walk around and scrutinize our activities like some security surveillance camera."
5. The miserly bosses
They upgrade their homes and buy new cars, but refuse to spend even a cent on their subordinates.
"My boss refuses to approve my application to attend a course, and at best he will agree to those short, one or two-day classes. My yearly increment is never more than $50, and I have only seven days of annual leave and no benefits."
