It seemed that everyone wanted to remember the last Apple keynote at Macworld 09.
Macworld is the event and it runs from Jan 5 to 9. Journalists and Apple staff were taking photos of each other and of themselves in situ.
There was excitement tinged with sadness. For many, their calendar for the first week in January is marked Macworld. From next year, it'll be empty. It has been a12-year run for Apple, 11 of which was graced by the iconic Steve Jobs.
Hundreds of journalists would queue up as early as 6.30am outside the Moscone conference venue in the centre of this city to hear Mr Jobs, Apple's chief executive officer, unveil new shiny devices like the iPod and iPhone at the keynote address.
Yesterday, Mr Phil Schiller Apple's senior vice-president of worldwide product marketing delivered his first and last keynote speech at Macworld. Mr Jobs was not speaking because Apple felt that trade shows like Macworld were not longer necessary to reach the Apple community and potential customers.
Before the event, the excitement was palpable. Everyone around me were taking photographs while journalists were asking each other what they thought about this historic event that for once did not feature Mr Jobs.
It's an event the Apple community will cherish for a long time to come.
