So you've finally got your copy of Street Fighter IV and welcomed the arcade warriors into the comfort of your home.

This comes after a 8-year break in the series that is both accessible to the casual pugilist and nuanced enough to engage the hardcore.

Besides the familiar cast of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and 13 other starting characters, the home version of the venerable beat-'em-up franchise comes with a host of 9 unlockable warriors.

AsiaOne Digital has done some digging around and we're proud to bring you this guide to unlocking them.

Sakura: Clear Arcade Mode with Ryu

Dan: Clear Arcade Mode with Sakura

Cammy: Clear Arcade Mode with C. Viper

Fei-Long: Clear Arcade Mode with Abel

Gen: Clear Arcade Mode with Chun-Li

Rose: Clear Arcade Mode with M.Bison

Akuma: Defeat him after unlocking the 6 characters above. You also need to have at least one perfect match and no continues.

Gouken: Clear Arcade Mode with Akuma, and defeat him when he appears. You also need get at least a perfect, no continues, and two or more Ultra finishes.

Seth: Clear Arcade Mode with all other characters.

One way to make this whole unlocking endeavour easier is to set the game's difficulty to 'Easiest' and have single-round matches.

The game also doesn't require you to play with the same character through the campaign; you can unlock the character you want by simply defeating Seth with the right fighter. For example, beat Seth with Chun-Li in the final encounter to unlock Gen.
