This Father's Day, form a party organizing committee with your siblings and plan a surprise bash for dad.
Microsoft has a great free service available called Windows Live Events.
This feature has all the necessary tools to help you plan a party: from creating invitations to suit your party theme, to mailing invitations from one central list.
Make it your personal party planner.
Here are some tips on using Windows Live Events features to organize your surprise Father's Day party bash:
First, make sure you have a Windows Live ID. You can create one at https://signup.live.com, then log on to the Windows Live Homepage at http://login.live.com. Click on 'More' option on top of the screen and choose 'Events' on the drop down menu. Then Windows Live Events page will take you through several simple steps to plan your bash.
Create an event: Some of the readily available thematic event options on Windows Live Event include birthdays, class reunions and surprise parties. But you will also be able to customize your own. All you need to do is choose the theme of your choice and key in your party details.
Invitations: sending out invitations is easy with Windows Live Events as this feature lets you upload all of your Windows Live contacts into one place, making it easier to reach everyone from one single and convenient invitation list.
Menu: Food is serious business for any event, but especially one which will be attended by hungry dads. You definitely don't want instant noodles as your 'signature' dish. Fret not, just asks your friends and your guests to share their best and easiest recipes with you on Windows SkyDrive, an online storage space with 25GB capacity that you can share with your contacts. You can see a short cut to this feature on the left side of your Windows Live Event page.
Music: You can also use Windows SkyDrive as your alternative DJ. You'll need a lot of music to keep the party going. Save yourself the time, effort and most importantly, money, you would otherwise spend in getting a DJ or buying new CDs. As the guests RSVP, ask that they upload their favourite songs onto your shared Windows SkyDrive. Alternatively, ask them to bring their favorite CDs and arrive early so you can upload the songs yourself before the party. Fix speakers to your PC or laptop and let the party begin!
Memories: Wait, the party's not over yet. Upload the party photos onto Windows Live Events Photos storage. From here you can share it with everyone who attended the party. You can see the option to use this feature on the left side of your Windows Live Event page. Your guests will need to have a Windows Live ID which they can get from https://signup.live.com if they don't already have it. You can easily tag your guests in the pictures using a new face recognition technology - no precious time wasted tagging the same people in different pictures over and over again.
