Keyboard shortcuts to desktop productivity

For Mac users, there is a long list of ways to get things done in the shortest time possible.

Many are already familiar, such as using Command A to select the entire document or all the items in a window, or Command X and Command V to cut and paste text.

Here are 10 not so well-known but equally useful keyboard shortcuts:

  • Command Z (to undo/redo)
  • Command D (to duplicate selected item)
  • Command E (to eject media)
  • Command M (to minimise all windows)
  • Command-Delete (to move item to trash)
  • Shift-Command-Delete (to empty trash)
  • Option-Command-W (to close all windows)
  • Option-Command-Eject (to put computer to sleep)
  • Command-: (to display the spelling window)
  • Command-; (to find misspelled words in the document)
