Overall usability
The iPhone's multi-touch capacitive screen is ideal for finger swipes, pinches and taps. However, it does not offer pinpoint accuracy and, unlike the Omnia II, the screen does not work with a stylus.
The Omnia II's advanced resistive touchscreen is not as responsive with a finger. I needed more effort to tap or swipe the screen to type or move images.
It is easier to use your fingernails on the Omnia's virtual keyboard. I prefer this to the vagueness of the iPhone's capacitive touch.
In fact, for keying in text, I was able to choose between five input interfaces, such as typing on a soft keyboard and using the transcriber for cursive handwriting recognition.
That said, the iPhone's multi-touch interface is light years ahead for selecting music and video, resizing images and text-editing.
