Aurea: Seduction by light

INNOVATIVE lighting, enhanced imaging and fantastic colours - that's what Philips' latest television innovation embodies.

Called Aurea, the next-generation Ambilight TV marks a departure from the conventional world of google boxes. Its light system is a one-of-a-kind technological innovation that expands the picture beyond its 42-inch screen.

The television's active frame closely envelops the picture with an ever changing glow of light to match the colours on the screen. This extends the picture with a soft, soothing halo, giving you an immersive viewing experience.

Aimed at the luxury end of the consumer lifestyle, the Aurea adds elegance to the home environment with its clean and white geometric look.

It also has an invisible sound system that blends seamlessly with the design of the flat TV - it uses two arrays of 12 firing front drivers and two subwoofer/mid speaker boxes.

However, such sophisticated class doesn't come cheap, with a price tag of $7,999.
