THE sale of iPhone in many countries is fraught with restrictions on the network providers.
Similarly, Apple and the network providers in Singapore have yet to reach an agreement on launching the iPhone here. Apple's marketing strategy is obviously wrong. There are already many 'illegally' unlocked iPhones in the market and there will be more made available because of strong demand.
Apple's restrictions will also prompt copycat iPhones.
A much better strategy for Apple is to make the iPhone freely available, so that it can capture the majority of the mobile phone/MP4 market share.
Apple should aim to have 6.6 billion people in the world using its iPhone, and this will make Apple the true giant in the technology world.
Microsoft is dominating the world now with its computer systems, so why can't Apple do the same since so many people want an iPhone?
