Get ultimate luxury item, Dior Phone, in Oct

FRENCH luxury goods company Christian Dior has added mobile phones to its stable of apparel, leather goods and watches.

The Dior Phone, launched in Europe last week, boasts a design which incorporates the use of diamond, sapphire crystal and stainless steel, said the company yesterday.

The clamshell phone is hand-assembled at the Sony work centre in France. It has a 2-megapixel camera, an MP3 player, an AMOLED screen, and an ultra-flat electro-luminescent keypad.

Designed with women in mind, the phone comes with a Bluetooth-enabled mini phone that can be hooked to one's bag.

The mini phone, which can be used 10m away from the Dior Phone, allows the user to receive or make calls as well as access her contact list, minus the hassle of searching for the main phone in the bag.

The Dior Phone is expected to be available in Singapore in early October.
