When AsiaOne contacted reader Lynn Foo, 27, a software engineer, to inform her that she had won an Acer Aspire one Mobile Internet Companion, she thought that it was a prank call.
"I thought that it was one of my friends who was on the other end of the line playing a prank on me or something." Lynn said. "Usually, I just sign up for a contest and don't follow up on it. I never expected I'd win a prize."
An AsiaOne reader of five years, Lynn said that she likes the online portal because it is informative and has interesting stories. "I log on to AsiaOne during work, and read the news for about 5 minutes each time. I usually check out the featured stories on the homepage and read whatever interests me."
Asked about her favourite section, Lynn said that it used to be Wine and Dine. Now, she visits the revamped SoShiok.com for restaurant reviews and advice of foodie places. AsiaOne is also where Lynn goes to read the latest news. It is also the section she visits most now.
The plucky PhotoSleuth decided to join the contest when she saw it featured on the home page. "The photo search was easy." Lynn said with a grin. "Not difficult at all."
