Girls, the next time you visit Jurong Point, beware of the pervert who apparently gets his kicks filming upskirt videos of women while taking the escalator.

According to local Chinese daily Shin Min Daily News, a Netizen who goes by the name of Chatter-Ling posted a message on an online forum describing an incident she witnessed earlier last week.

The newspaper reported that Chatter-Ling saw the incident on February 27, the second day of the Chinese New Year holidays.

In her post, Chatter-Ling wrote that she was taking the escalator when she noticed a man standing two steps behind her, such that one leg was propped up on the higher step. He took out his mobile phone and rested his hand on the raised knee, such that its camera was angled to flim up Chatter-Ling's skirt.

The culprit, however, did not get what he wanted. Chatter-Ling wrote in her forum post that her boyfriend, who was standing next to her, had also noticed the man's suspicious actions and intervened. The man then quickly withdrew his hand and acted as if nothing happened.

The Netizen said that she was very disgusted by the man's behaviour and warned fellow forum readers to always pay attention to their surroundings, especially since most people won't notice what is going on behind them while traveling on an escalator.

Chatter-Ling described the man as Chinese, of slightly heavy build and looked to be in his 40s. He was wearing a yellow T-shirt and white bermuda shorts at the time of the incident.
