SMARTPHONES are hot property in Singapore, with figures showing a take-up rate far beyond average world statistics.
IT research firm IDC says 33 per cent of local consumers own Web- and media-enabled mobile phones, as compared with the global average of 13 per cent. Last year, sales of these phones leapt 28 per cent from 2007's level.
The total number of post-paid mobile subscriptions hit more than three million in March.
