Digital photo frames are supposed to read data from memory cards, not melt them. But that was exactly what happened to Netizen Canon_7Di.

The STOMP reader wrote in to the citizen journalism website saying that he had purchased the digital photo frame from a Sim Lim Square store recently.
According to Canon_7Di, the device's manual stated that it can read SD (Secure Digital), SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) and Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo cards.
When a friend came to visit and wanted to share photo's the Netizen took the friend's Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo card and inserted it into the frame with some difficulty.
"When I switched the device on, there was a strong burning smell. He and I were both shocked to find his card had melted.
"I apologised to him and gave my used memory stick to him." the Netizen told STOMP.
The Netizen said that he had used his SDHC card with his digital photo frame previously and encountered no problems.
Strangely enough, though, was the fact that the half-melted Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo still worked, despite being almost fried by the digital photo frame.
The Netizen said, "After my friend left, I tested the melted stick with a card reader and was surprised to find it could work fine.
"Next time, however, I would not dare to insert my memory stick into this frame."
