FOUR companies here have been given a total of $500,000 in Government grants to pilot digital mapping services here.

Such maps can, for example, provide real-time navigation to motorists, or offer interactive online maps to help entrepreneurs suss out competitors and possible sites to set up shop.

The services will go live in a six-month trial by March, Acting Minister for Information, Communications & the Arts RAdm (NS) Lui Tuck Yew announced on Monday.
