It?s always nice to be surprised.
I was initially unimpressed when the Sound-Scape Bridge, which transmits audio signals wirelessly through the house, came for evaluation. I thought this was another one of the many low-cost Taiwanese transmitters-receiver systems, which have been in existence for a good while now.
The SoundScape Bridge is simple - comprising a transmitter and receiver module. Connect the transmitter to the sound source such as your MP3 player and the receiver module to your speaker system and you are ready to go.
This nifty device, which plays your MP3 from just about anywhere to your hi-fi system proved to be gem. To test it, I hooked my Samsung K5 MP3 player to my JVC digital amplifier sound system. The sound quality was simply astounding!
And I was unable to perceive any distortion in the sound. The total absence of lag makes it ideal for connecting the rear pair of speakers for a surround-sound experience.
Initially, I did encounter some installation problems. But after several attempts I was rewarded with a cool blue light on the top panel to show that all was well.
The blue light only blinks when it detects any interference in the transmission. And it took a fair bit of running around the house and down two flights of stairs for that to happen. The system lived up to its claim of being able to operate within a 20m range.
FINAL SAY
Finally, a company has developed a full-proof system to provide endless hours of listening pleasure from your MP3 without wires. It has been worth the wait. I am definitely looking forward to the next big leap - the ability to transmit both audio and video signals wirelessly around the house.
