Numerous casual games available on the Web, like Bejeweled and Collapse, are hot favourites for the occasional gamer. Pogo Island brings this type of fun, from one such website, Pogo.com, to the handheld platform.

However, only five of the more than 100 games available at the Pogo.com website are included in Pogo Island, making this DS version look like a rush job.

But you do get the more popular games - Word Whomp, Poppit!, Tri-Peaks Solitaire, Squelchies and Phlinx.

The games can either be played on their own, or integrated into an island adventure mode, which also includes forgettable mini-games like sorting falling nuts and bolts into barrels.

After a go at any game, and in the other features like a jackpot in the adventure mode, you receive tokens and gradually raise your rank from Explorer to Island Guru.

Pogo Island is great for the many casual gamers who want to play on the go. However, it may be hard to justify paying for a mere five of these titles, which can be had for free online.
