SPEAKERS from Bose are known for their good sound, although pricing of its products is on the high side.
But quality usually comes with a commensurate price tag.
Its latest Computer MusicMonitor speakers deliver great sound, which is even more impressive, considering that a pair of tiny speakers (no separate subwoofer) are belting it out.
The magic comes from the design of its sound radiators, the magnets used and the electronic amplification - all of which come together to produce an excellent sound package.
The trebles are clear, the bass is ample and the soundstage wide and expansive.
While we are not talking of true hi-fi here, this is clearly one of the best desktop speakers I have ever heard.
The question that will invariably be asked: Is it worth spending so much on a pair of computer speakers when there are so many cheaper choices around? The answer lies in what the computer is used for.
If one watches movies, plays music and games a lot on the computer, then it would be the de facto entertainment centre of the home.
It would not then be so difficult to spend more on a good sounding pair of speakers to complete the experience.
