Spot Satellite Messenger

SPOT is one of those gadgets that one probably does not need until the moment arrives - when you are lost and in dire need of help.

While traditional GPS devices tell you where you are, Spot uses satellite technology to send your GPS location to either an emergency responder or personal contacts.

Press a button and a message plus your GPS location will be delivered as an SMS or e-mail (with a link to Google Maps) to specified contacts. It can also be used to track by sending and saving your location and allowing contacts to track you via Google Maps.

How much: $229
