TWO Protestant churches here are collecting donations through their websites with City Harvest Church launching its online donation portal in 2002 and the Faith Community Baptist Church going online last year, The Straits Times reported.

City Harvest members use their credit cards to make donations online; FCBC's website offers a service similar to Internet banking.

City Harvest's executive pastor Derek Dunn told The Straits Times: 'People here are very IT-savvy, so an online portal is a convenient way to give.'

According to a report of the Straits Times, City Harvest received $34.7 million in tithes and offerings from its members last year.
