VOLTAIC bags may look like ordinary bags but they come with one major difference ? a solar panel on the front harnesses the power of the sun to let users recharge virtually all types of handheld electronic devices while on the move.
The solar panels can produce up to 14.7 watts of power, which is enough to fully charge a regular laptop from a day of direct sunlight, Voltaic said.
A custom battery will store the surplus power generated.
When not in the sun, the battery can be charged using an included travel adaptor. Voltaic has five bag choices, which are available in two designs ? three backpacks (Converter, Daypack and Backpack) and two shoulder bags (Messenger and Generator).
To protect precious assets from bumps while travelling, each Voltaic bag is made from recycled PET, which is claimed to be tough, water resistant as well as lightweight.
On top of that, the bags also come with a fully padded laptop sleeve that can support up to a 17in laptop.
Common adaptors are also included in the package for easy connection to notebooks, phones and other portable devices. The only downside is that the bags cost at least US$199 ($270), excluding international shipping charges.
