AIPTEK Pocket Cinema V10
A projector that fits your pocket.
SAID to be the world's first media player-projector, the China-made Pocket Cinema V10 from AIPTEK weighs around 160g, and is about the size of a candybar mobile phone. It can project photos (JPEG) and videos (MP4, AVI and ASF) up to a height of 50 inches (1.27m) on a wall. The V10 has 1GB of internal memory, as well as a built-in slot for SD/MS Pro media cards. It also plays music (MP3) and operates on a rechargeable battery. A direct connection with an Apple iPod, Nokia N95 and Nintendo Wii is available. The quality of the projected images may not be fantastic, but it's passable nonetheless. Best results are achieved in a darkened room with a white wall. Being the first of its kind in the market, and given its sheer compactness, there were obvious compromises on the V10's design. It certainly has room for improvement. Nevertheless, it is a good first effort at down- sizing a projection device and making it truly portable. How much: $699
